9. Are there issues involved in sharing student email addresses for the study? Wouldn’t that be a violation of student privacy? Can I participate without providing email addresses? Although universities are governed by different policies regarding the dissemination of this information, it is not a violation of federal law to share student e-mail addresses as outlined in the master IRB approval. According to FERPA, sharing information for the purposes of enhancing educational practice is permissible. We are happy to speak with institutional representative about this and can share the significant privacy measures we have in place to protect student confidentiality.
10. What is the difference between the cross-sectional and longitudinal options? The longitudinal study obtains further information on respondents to a previous cross-sectional NSLLP who are still matriculated at your campus. This option provides a larger informational “window” for comparing the outcomes of LLP students and their non-LLP counterparts.
11. How much is the longitudinal option? The longitudinal option costs $3,500 for up to 5,000 participants. It includes up to 10 custom questions and a personalized report of the findings.
12. If I’m considering using the longitudinal option in the future, do I have declare my decision now? No, you are not obligated to decide now. In fact, you enjoy the option of conducting a longitudinal study at any time while students who responded to a cross-sectional NSLLP are still matriculated at your campus.
